बेसन का हलवा | BESAN KA HALWA RECIPE

Besan Halwa, is an Indian sweet recipe which is filled with the goodness of gram flour and dry fruits and can be served as a sweet dish.


Besan Halwa is one of the most popular dessert from North Indian cuisine. Besan Halwa is made from besan/gram flour/chickpeas flour. Besan Halwa is very rich and delicious in taste, and especially very popular in festivals and functions. This is very easy to prepare with very less ingredients.

 

INGREDIENTS –

  • 1 ½ cup Besan (Laddu Besan)/Gram Flour/Chickpeas Flour
  • ¼ cup Ghee
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup Milk
  • ¼ tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 4-5 Thread Saffron/Kesar
  • 7-8 Manuka (optional)
  • 80 gm Cashew / Kaju (Chopped)
  • 50 gm Almond/Badam (Chopped)
  • 50 gm Raisin /Kishmis

DIRECTION TO MAKE BESAN HALWA –

  1. To begin making Besan Halwa Recipe, In a deep bottom pan/kadhai, heat ghee in a kadai.

  2. Add besan and roast it on low flame till all raw smell goes out and besan changes the color slightly brown.

  3. While roasting beasn, at the same time take a sauce pan, add sugar, ½ cup water, saffron thread, and cook it on low flame and bring it to boiling point, then boil it for 2-3 minutes.

  4. Add prepared sugar syrup in the roasted besan mixture and mix it well then add milk, cardamom powder and raisin.


  5. Mix well, stir it continuously till the mixture becomes thick.
  6. Let the ghee separate from the mixture.
  7. Eventually the mixture will be sticky.

Besan Halwa is ready, garnish it with chopped dry fruits and serve it hot or cold.

 

SOME USEFUL TIPS –

  1.  If you are using fine variety of besan then add 1-2 tbsp Suji in besan.
  2. Use laddu besan for best result.
  3. You can store this Halwa for 1-2 week in a refrigerator.
  4. Whenever you want to eat stored halwa, you can reheat stored halwa in a microwave for 1 minutes before eating.
